This is a blog by a Scottish woman (who is actually half English, half Polish) who is married to a Swede, lived in Denmark for 8 years and who has now moved to a new life in New Zealand.  I live with my husband, Karl and my step-son, Anton.  We used to also live with a visiting cat, Misse Moj, who has disappeared, and was replaced by another one, Charlie, who moved with his owners, to make room for another Charlie cat, jet black and very sleepy.

I started the blog to cover our move and new life.  We’ve been here a while now, but there are still so many things to experience and see here that there is no shortage of things to write about.  I like baking, cooking and reading about food, take pictures of things all the time with my iPhone (not all of them very good), love ballet and dance, reading and listening to the radio.  I would love to mess about more in the garden, but never seem to get round to it.

You can also follow me on Twitter @Basia59

And there is a Thistles and Kiwis Facebook page too.

And now an email address ThistlesAndKiwis@gmail.com

  1. Thanks for following my blog. New Zealand looks lovely. I have an ex client who moved there to breed alpachas and she loves it. It’s changed her life. My family is Scottish/English and I married a Romanian. I have yet to show him Scotland, but it’s a landscape I know he will love.
