Wordless Wednesday: Martinborough Museum

On Sunday, as you may have seen from the last post, we popped over the hills to Martinborough. It just so happened that the small town museum, which sits within the main square was celebrating the 125th birthday of the building in which it is housed. Built for 236 pounds, it was originally a public library, reading room and chess club (for men only!). It has since been refurbished and used to exhibit a variety of things from a number of early photographs of Martinborough, furnishings, clothing, and household implements, as well as old switchboards from the former manual telephone exchanges. As avid ‘collectors’ of small, local museums, we enjoyed having a look around and seeing a bit of local history.
