This week’s small pleasures #93

I’m writing this on a wet Monday evening, just the sort of day you want to spend just lying on the sofa with a good book or a film, a pot of tea and some hot, buttered toast.  Ahh…we can but dream…  The weather was much better last week, with some more lovely sunrises, such as the one pictured above at the top of the post.  Anyway…here are a few of this week’s small pleasures.

1 A riot of colour

When our luggage got delayed on the short hop between Denmark and Scotland, I purchased this purple pink scarf from John Lewis to cheer myself up.  Then last Sunday I found these bracelets in Small Acorns here in Wellington which just happened to match…so that meant a quick dash to the Mac counter at David Jones for this lipstick (with the delightful name of Rebel).  Why not?

All matching!

2.  Fruits of the season

If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you will have seen endless pictures of fruit.  There are just so many lovely things around just now, and I could not resist these red kiwi fruit alongside the persimmons, pears, and passion fruit.

3.  Food again

I mentioned The Food Show in my last blog post, but I also picked up this gorgeous goat camembert from Over the Moon.  Very creamy, a little goes a long way, and oh so nice with a slice of ripe pear.

5. A Film

On Sunday afternoon, to recover from a disappointing result in the Eurovision Song Contest, (there were much better songs, such as the ones from Australia, Sweden and France, which I can still sing, but had no novelty chicken factor element like the winner), we went to see Isle of Dogs.  What a great film, with so many little elements that made for a perfect little gem of a film.  Highly recommended, though Charlie would not have enjoyed it I don’t think!  Anyone else seen it?

Not a film for Charlie

Thanks to Mani over at A New Life Wandering for the original idea.
