So here we are again with a round up of this week’s small pleasures. Monday was a local holiday here in Wellington, always a good way to start a week! Plus the good weather continues – hoorah for summer!
Why parsley? Well, there is lot of parsley growing at the Lady Norwood Rose Garden. I am not sure why, but picked a tiny bit on the way to work one morning . Such a lovely smell too.
I regularly spot this New Zealand pigeon these days in the Botanic Gardens. They are not an endangered species in the country as a whole, but nice to see them on the way to work.
Vibrant colours and good cheese
I was sitting waiting for the bus home on Saturday morning, and thought how good the tomatoes and limes looked in my string bag. The goat brie from The Drunken Nanny is excellent, and was lovely with salad for lunch,.
The courgette plant
Grown from seeds that came free with groceries, and stuck in a pot, this plant continues to amaze with these gorgeous flowers, which open each morning.
Having a visitor, we made the most of having the opportunity to eat out, enjoying dinner at our local Italian place, Cosa Nostra, on Thursday, and heading over to The Bresolin on Friday. My falafel burger was really juicy and moist, which can sometimes be hard to get right with falafel.
Finally, we have been in New Zealand for five years – how time flies.
