Here we are at what will probably be the last small pleasures post of the year. Next Monday is Christmas Day, and I won’t be posting then, so here we are with a round up of this week’s special moments.
Trip to Martinborough
It was such a lovely sunny day on Sunday, so we drove over the Rimutaka Hills to Martinborough, which regular readers will know has featured in lots of posts in the past. Martinborough is in the heart of the Wairarapa, and perhaps best known for being the centre of the wine growing in the region. We stopped for lunch at The Village Café, and then to try some wine at Schubert Wines and Martinborough Vineyard (both of which we have been to before several times, but it was a new experience for my step-son). It was 29C over there too – real summer weather.
Fruit and vegetables
It’s that time of year for salads, fresh ears of corn, blueberries, raspberries, nectarines, peaches, cherries and early plums. I picked up some baby carrots too this week, and roasted some nectarines for a simple desert on Sunday.
Present to myself
Anyone else buy themselves something at this time of year? I could not resist this scarf with the little rose gold cats sprinkled all over it.
Knowing the holidays are coming….
Just knowing that from 12 noon on Friday I am on holiday is…well….wonderful!
Thanks to Mani over at A New Life Wandering for the original idea.
