Quite a few bloggers are doing the Christmas tag from Life With Fernie, so I thought I might have a go too.
1. What is your favourite Christmas movie?
To be honest, I don’t have one. I do look forward to Christmas specials on TV though like Dr Who.
2.Do you like to stay in Pyjamas or Dress up for Christmas day?
I never stay in pyjamas all day. With it being summer here, I’ll probably put on a dress.
3.If you could only buy one person a present this year who would it be and why?
My husband – obviously!
4.Do you open your present Christmas Eve or Christmas Morning?
5.Have you ever built a ginger bread house?
No – not a tradition when I was growing up.
6.What are you most looking forward to this Christmas season?
7. Any Christmas wishes?
That 2018 is a good year.
8. Favourite Christmas smell?
Christmas trees when in the northern hemisphere, the smell of warm, summer days here.
9. Favourite Christmas meal or treat?
Janssons frestelse! The whole Swedish Christmas table in fact – herring, smoked salmon, ham, meatballs….and so on. Just love that sort of food that you come back to for second and third helpings.
10. How do you traditionally spend your Christmas day?
We start the day by opening up our stockings and eating breakfast. Last year, we went for a walk in the Botanic Gardens, and ate left overs. This year we are going to friends for a barbecue.
11. Do you open stockings first or presents?
Well, we open our presents on Christmas Eve, and stockings on Christmas Day……so work it out!!
12. When do you put up your tree?
Just a few days before Christmas. Will probably put it up on Wednesday.
13. Least favourite part of Christmas?
All the hysteria about the right food/presents etc. I hate those minute by minute guides to cooking the ‘perfect Christmas meal’ or guides to gifts that are just pure advertising.
14. Any unusual traditions during your Christmas?
A boiled egg for breakfast on Christmas Day (see the last post).
15. Favourite childhood Christmas memory?
Coming into the room on Christmas morning and seeing the tree fully decorated and sparkly, with a fairy on the top, and ‘snow’ (in fact little bits of cotton wool) all over the tree.
I’m going to tag…
