With having done a blog post every day this week, picking out particular things as small pleasures that I haven’t talked about already took a little bit of time. I’ve been loving my morning walks to work (check out the ducklings on a previous post and on Instagram), and enjoying the gorgeous weather we have been having. My Pilates classes always bring me pleasure (as you know if you read the blog regularly) and making myself sit and read on coming home from work is really working well. And Anton arrived on Sunday for a holiday which was lovely.

Shopping
While browsing for stocking fillers (post coming up Tuesday on this), I found this cute little wooden cat in Kikki K. I just had to get him, and luckily Charlie hasn’t noticed him come into the house. I also picked up two summer dresses from Trenery (this one and this one), as my summer wardrobe is rather lacking in nice things, and some silver Keds for seasonal sparkle.

Dining
We had an excellent dinner with friends at The Salty Pidgin in Brooklyn (which is also a suburb of Wellington….). Really good food, enjoyed by all, and good service too. On Saturday we ate a fabulous set of Indian dishes at friends, and on Sunday we had a welcome dinner for Anton, so there is no chance to just eat toast and Marmite.
Baking
No, not Christmas biscuits, but just some dark chocolate chip and sour cherry muffins, using the basic recipe from a very well used book.

Summer in the city
Whether it be strolling by the waterfront, drinking a nice, cold beer outside or listening to music in the park at lunch time, summer in the city is a good place to be.

Thanks to Mani over at A New Life Wandering for the original idea.
