I made a real effort every day this week to think of small pleasures, and here is my list. The week started well, even though it was raining (see hints of things to do on a wet holiday weekend here). I was up in Hamilton this week, and as I wrote on Friday, had excellent food in the restaurant, Gothenburg. Now for the rest…
The sky on Saturday morning

This week’s flowers
A bunch of flowers always brightens up a room, even if just some carnations and baby’s breath.

A new candle
I bought something quite unnecessary this week – a Jo Malone scented candle in Green Tomato Leaf. It has such a glorious smell, but, I feel a bit like Sally Holmes in this article (Don’t Light My Expensive Candles. Ever). It might be just too good to ever light! I also got free samples, as you can see in the picture on the left below. Now they will get used!
Saturday dinner: creamy chicken pasta bake
Another lovely recipe from The Forest Cantina; Home for Sunday dinner. There was lots of it, so lots of left-overs.

Sunny Sunday
It has been a gloriously sunny day today, so we drove over to Martinborough, had lunch (Caesar salad for me, smoked salmon sandwich for Karl), and picked up some wine and olive oil.

So that’s it for this week’s round up.
Thanks to Mani over at A New Life Wandering for the original idea.
