It was an odd week…I was still sick at the start of the week, Tuesday was Anzac Day and a holiday, Karl came back from Europe and the weather turned from sun to rain (to sun and then rain again). Anyway, here are this week’s small pleasures.
Dance in the park
This week has been New Zealand Dance Week, and one lunch time, some of the contemporary students at the New Zealand School of Dance put on a performance in the wee park in town. Great fun to see during my lunch break.
Rhubarb and apple crumble
I could not resist picking up some rhubarb for our weekend dessert, a rhubarb and apple crumble. Perfect combination in my opinion.
A tea story
For my Saturday morning cup of tea this week, I tried the pure oolong from Zealong Tea Estate, the only tea producer in New Zealand, based in the Waikato. The branch of Mojo’s on Courtney Place are putting together a booklet all about the tea, and I was lucky enough to get a preview. I really want to visit the estate now!
It was time to get some things for autumn, and I picked up some really nice trousers for work, a pair of bottle green jeans, a cashmere mix sweater and these spotty socks.
What’s not to love about these fragrant fruits? They are a real feature of New Zealand autumns.
Getting to the vegetable market for a change
Yes, we actually got to the market this Sunday, prior to going to book a winter break in June. More about that later, but that was a real small pleasure!
Also check out My Tiny Obsessions post this week too!
