It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these posts, due to trips and other things to blog about, but today it is Waitangi Day* here in New Zealand and we are on holiday. After a couple of gorgeous sunny days, it’s back to being a bit overcast, so I am on the sofa with Netflix (The Perks of Being a Wallflower), a mug of pina colada green tea, magazines and some things to read. So to this week’s small pleasures…
Dining out
On Thursday we went to Field and Green which I wrote about in my first post of February, and yesterday, Sunday, we went to our local Italian place Cosa Nostra, where the four of us shared a nice antipasto plate and I had gnocchi for the second time this week, though this time with pesto and roasted cherry tomatoes.
A small trip
We went up to Taranaki for a 40th birthday party which I wrote about in my last post. There was hog roast, home brew beer and a good time was had by all.

Having a time to read
Charlie still hasn’t forgiven us for putting him in the cattery, only coming for food and to stay a short while. He did, however, stop to read a little bit, no doubt since the book has a cat as a main character.

*Waitangi Day – you can read about it here or what happened today here.
Thanks to Mani at A New Life Wandering for the idea of a small pleasures post.
How lovely!
