If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea, we would naturally talk about the weather, the earthquake and what was in our diaries for the coming weeks  (for more on weather and earthquake see last post here).

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea, I would tell you about Charlie, who seems to think that both my laptop and iPad are his own personal entertainment system (and yes I know he shouldn’t be on the table).  He’s also been enjoying the sunny weather, as you can see above.

Don’t interrupt, just getting to the exciting bit

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea, we would talk about my neck, and how it still hurts, and that it is worse first thing in the morning.  It is getting better though, and hopefully when I see you this time next week, it will all be better.

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea, I would tell you how I sometimes find it hard to resist fun packaging, such as this from New Zealand based, sustainable snack makers Serious Popcorn.

Seriously nice packaging

If we were having coffee…or even a cup of tea I would tell you about the canapés we had at a formal reception during the week. How the cucumber slice topped with coronation chicken* and the lamb meatballs worked well, but that the puffs with cream cheese and smoked salmon, while delicious, were a little tricky to eat, and I ended up with a little cream cheese on my nose.

If we were having…oh wait…it is time for a gin and tonic and some of that popcorn.

Serious Popcorn being seriously eaten

*If you don’t know what coronation chicken is, read this piece from The Guardian.
