After the rain on Friday, the sun came back out and we are back to being deafened by cicadas, wearing sunnies (ie sunglasses) and drinking long, cold drinks. The cat has taken to sleeping downstairs where it is a little cooler, and we’ve turned into equally lazy beings. It was just as well I had a Pilates class yesterday morning to stop me becoming a complete sun lounger potato.

The rest of the berries have now ripened (see earlier post here)

Saturday afternoon
Sunday looks like being pretty much the same, though I am off later this afternoon to a pre-season forum at the Royal New Zealand Ballet where there will be discussion about the forthcoming triple bill, Speed of Light. The event will be hosted by Francesco Ventriglia, the RNZB Artistic Director and will feature those involved in staging the three works and one of the musicians.
In the meantime, think I’ll just pick up a book, go outside and enjoy summer life.
And I love to live so pleasantly
Live this life of luxury
Lazing on a sunny afternoon
In the summertime, in the summertime
In the summertime
Sounds and looks wonderful!
