Share Your World: Week 19

Great questions this week from Cee’s Photography!

Would you prefer a one floor house or multiple levels?

I grew up in a flat, and have mostly lived in flats during my life.  In Wellington, we live in a 2 storey house, built of wood in 1929.  We are renting but considering buying so it will be interested to see what we end up with!

If you have a TV, would you prefer the TV in the living room or another room?

Living room.  Mind you, I do watch a lot of things on my laptop these days, which of course can move about the house.

When you leave a room, do you turn the lights off behind you or keep the lights on throughout your house most of the time? Explain your answer.

Usually put the lights off to save electricity, though where we live now there are no street lights, so if we are out in the evening we leave lights on to help us up the steps home.

What’s your favorite room in your home?

I love the downstairs room, a kitchen, dining and extra sitting space room that opens onto the decking.  It’s a great place to watch birds, cats and the weather.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week,

Not so much grateful, but I was delighted to hear that one of my nephews has got a 2 year working visa for New Zealand and will be arriving here at the end of June.

and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Getting my hair cut on Saturday!

Where we live (20 minutes walk from CBD, Wellington)

  1. From the street below, there are about 45 stone steps with a little street lighting and then 45 wooden steps (the ones in the picture). It is fun carrying the weekly shop up as you can imagine! There are also steps up to the street at the top, beginning with steps like you might find on a country walk, then a wooden bridge, and then some steep stone steps. Needless to say I avoid these as much as possible!

  2. You do have a lot of steps–I had a hard time finding the cat! I could easily give up TV for the laptop, but hubby would disagree. 😉
