Share Your World: Week 12

So it is time once again for Cee’s Weekly Share Your World Challenge.  I try not to look at what other people write first in case it influences me in some way.  Great questions again this week.

When was the last time you sat on a park or garden bench for more than ten minutes? Describe the occasion.

Far too long ago!  It would have been in the Botanic Gardens in Wellington.  Before I started my current job I had lots of time for this sort of thing.  I’ve posted so many pictures of the Botanic Gardens here, so here are just a random two.

Would you ever be interested in observing a surgery or do you turn away when the nurse brings out the needle?

I’m not bothered about watching surgery, and in fact have witnessed surgery on animals first hand, but if anyone comes near me with a needle…that is a whole different thing!

Where’s your favorite place to take out-of-town guests?

Here in Wellington, a drive over the Rimutaka Hills to Martinborough for lunch and wine tasting.  It is a lovely drive and lets people who are in Wellington for a short time see something of the countryside in the region, plus eat a good lunch and taste some good wine!  Again, there have been quite a few pictures of Martinborough on the blog, but here are some to remind you.

Taken in 2013 – our first trip

If you had an unlimited shopping spree at only one store, which one would you choose? Why?

Tough!  It would depend what I was shopping for, but I guess a branch of John Lewis, in the UK which sells everything – clothes, shoes, furniture, homeware, cosmetics and so on.  A first class department store.  I would then have to ship it back here of course!  If food, then Moore Wilson here in Wellington.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week

Not so much grateful, but a few small things that made me smile, from the woman who owns a dress shop in town admiring the way I was dressed one morning to seeing pictures of former students looking happy with their new babies to hearing from friends I haven’t heard from in a while.

and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

You know the answer!  And going to visit Swedish friends for dinner on Saturday night before they return to Sweden.
