After the stress of the last couple of days it was nice yesterday to do very little except go to the hairdresser, take a nap and watch ‘Mission Impossible’ from the comfort (?) of the blow up bed.
On Tuesday the furniture was finally all packed up and loaded into the container. I can’t say I was impressed with the removal firm (they even emptied all my plants into a rubbish bag and then put the dirty pots into a box and loaded it! Can you imagine the mentality of the people who did that? Unbelievable!) Luckily we were able to retrieve the pots from the container although some of my plants were ruined.
It was also my last day at work. I have been teaching on the Multimedia Design diploma at the Copenhagen School of Design and Technology for six and a half years, so it was kind of sad. There were two other colleagues leaving at the same time and there was a leaving reception for all of us. To be honest, for some reason the end was all a bit of an anti-climax. Perhaps because we had a big leaving party with our good friends at the beginning of January, and that I had also attended the graduation party last Friday, it all felt a bit flat.
Still, I leave with a lot of fond and happy memories of the people I met during my time there, both colleagues and students. The picture on the left is of me and my three British colleagues at my leaving party in January.
Last evening, was spent in the pub with a group of people I had met through my job here. With the exception of one, (who in fact is a now former colleague), all the rest were former students, which just shows what a special bunch of people I have had the honour to work with and get to know over the years.
This evening, it is off to the pub again, but this time for one final pub quiz at The Southern Cross.
