Our move to New Zealand finally seems real. Today the removal firm was here packing up all our belongings and getting them ready for their long move south. With our clothes, books and china all in boxes, it now feels that we are on our way at long last.
The process of moving to Wellington has taken several months. The first email about an associate professor’s post at Victoria University arrived in my husband Karl’s inbox in April 2012. He nearly deleted it as spam, but realised it was a genuine and interesting proposition. So, after 3 Skype interviews, and a flying 5 day visit to New Zealand for the final interview, he was offered the job, and so here we are, leaving for the other side of the world in just a few days.
I am writing this blog as a sort of diary of our new life and hope to share some of our adventures.
